Privately run by Carrain family since 1924, this hotel
was among those which pooled the association of Venice Hoteliers, more
than 50 years ago. Several famed painters, sculptors and worldwide
personalities of culture have been following one another in the years:
Matisse, Braque, Picasso, Harp, Vedova, Santomaso, Guttuso and many
others. Their passage left a memorable trace; their works are now
displayed in the Hotel's ambiances and Restaurant.
Wise refurbishings, in accordance with the highest European standards of
comfort and service, have preserved many historic features of this 17th
century Palace, among which, the ceilings with ancient oak beams and
friezes - restored by an expert in interior decoration, and the mansards
from where one can admire enchanting views over the roofs of Venice. |
Breakfast rooms are enriched by paintings,
panels and drawings by the representative artists of the Fronte Nuovo
delle Arti art movement founded here in the 50's.

The Halls Vedova and Santomaso can be reserved for lunches, dinners and
gala dinners, or arranged for gatherings, business meetings and
incentives. On the first floor three rooms are available: Gischià,
Vedova and Santomaso.
A buffet breakfast is daily served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the
Gischià Room, where guests can choose from a great deal of home-made
products, including Venetian delicate pastry.
